I just received your great book. It's really a masterpiece!

In my 19 or so years of collecting Sherlockiana I don't think I've
ever encountered a more beautiful Sherlockian book! I don't make
statements like that easily, but this book is simply, and without
overstating the case, drop-dead gorgeous. Jessen has managed
something like 600 illustrations in a sort of sepia wash that appear
on every single page of STUD and the publisher, Hakon Holm, has put
it all together into the most incredible package. The samples and
descriptions on the publisher's site do not do this lovely book justice.
While I have numerous beautifully designed slip-cased limited edition
small press publications in other fields of interest.
I've never seen anything quite as grand as this in the Sherlockian world.
If you've been sitting on the fence about this, waiting for a recommendation, now you've got it.
Unbelievable piece of work that is worth every penny!
About time someone brought quality of this calibre to a Sherlockian publication.
Gets my very highest recommendation on all counts.
I love the book already and it even smells great!!
I would suggest that this book be part of anyone's Sherlockian library.
You are going to love this book, no bones about it. I've been
practically fondling the blessed thing since I pulled it from my
mailbox. I really can't even begin to put into words how impressed I
am. The thing is huge too at 14 inches in height and 10 inches in
width. About time someone brought quality of this calibre to a
Sherlockian publication. Gets my very highest recommendation on all
counts. What a great present to get on the day after the 125th anniversary of the Battle of Maiwand!!
Right, back to fondling ;-)

I just received a copy of your illustrated Study in Scarlet and wanted to tell you that it is a wonderful job and a great addition to the Sherlock Holmes canon. I was also wondering if you have any future plans to sell any of your original artwork for the book. If you do, please let me know as I would love to have something for my collection.
Thank you

"..it s wonderful - far exceeding my expectations! I love your Lestrade and the images of Baker Street are perfect - instantly recognisable. It is much bigger than I thought it would be and that just adds to making it special. It really is the edition every Sherlockian should have on their shelves. I am really chuffed to be in some very small way associated with this book."

Flot - ligesom bogen tilsyneladende er meget flot med dine tegninger, der sådan som jeg vurderer det, falder utrolig godt ind i den stil, der er karakteristisk for Sherlock Holmes og London på den tid.

Nis Jessen - your artwork for the fully illustrated version of A STUDY IN SCARLET is breathtakingly detailed and is exactly what I have been looking for.
In my mind and spirit I can see Doyle, Holmes and Watson actually appear before me and give me entire passages, scenes, scripts... it's amazing. I thought we would replicate Paget's style in my new Sherlock Holmes series, but yours has a definitive look. I have waited a long time to find my own conceptual artist and I would love to see you working for me as a storyboard artist for a new Sherlock Holmes series.
